1. Account and access

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum digital consent age in your country, to use Cookguy. If you are not old enough to enter a binding agreement, a parent or legal guardian must accept these Terms for you.

You must provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and promptly tell us if you suspect unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account. One account is intended for one person and may not be sold, transferred, or shared in a way that circumvents feature limits or subscription rules.

Some features require a supported device, internet connection, account, current app version, device permission, or active subscription. Carrier, data, and device charges are your responsibility.

2. Cookguy features

Cookguy may provide pantry management, recipe search and public recipe browsing, recipe ideas and generation, AEye and image recognition, dish-image generation, recipe translation, recipe chat, Wishing Well submissions, Recipes of the Day, saved recipes, sharing, ratings, notifications, and cooking navigation with steps, dependencies, progress, and timers.

Features, availability, supported languages, AI models, Bowl costs, output limits, and device support may change as the Services evolve. A feature described in the app or on our website may be experimental, unavailable in some regions, or subject to separate store or provider requirements.

Notifications and timers

Notifications, background delivery, and timer alerts depend on device settings, connectivity, operating-system behavior, and third-party messaging services. They may be delayed, silenced, or not delivered. Do not rely on Cookguy for safety-critical timing, food storage, or appliance supervision.

3. Your content, public content, and AI

You retain ownership of content you submit, including photos, pantry information, recipe requests, daily dish wishes, ratings, chats, cooking progress, and recipes you create. You grant Cookguy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, reproduce, adapt, translate, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Services and provide features you request.

If you intentionally publish a recipe or other content, you also permit Cookguy to make it available to other users and to display, distribute, and format it within the Services. You can change supported visibility settings, but copies already shared, saved, or used by others may remain. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit and publish your content and that it does not violate law or another person’s rights.

Cookguy uses automated and artificial-intelligence systems to identify ingredients or dishes and produce recipe ideas, recipes, images, translations, cooking plans, and answers. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, unsafe, inappropriate, or similar to content generated for other users. You must review all output before relying on, sharing, or cooking from it. Cookguy does not guarantee that generated content is unique, non-infringing, or eligible for intellectual-property protection.

Cookguy and its licensors own the Services, software, design, branding, catalog data, and materials we provide, excluding your content. These Terms do not transfer those rights to you.

4. Food, allergy, and health safety

Cookguy is a cooking-assistance tool, not a medical, dietetic, nutrition, or food-safety professional. Always use your own judgment and follow authoritative guidance for food handling, storage, expiry, appliance use, cooking temperatures, and safe preparation.

Image recognition, pantry records, substitutions, recipe chat, and generated recipes may miss or misidentify an ingredient, allergen, cross-contamination risk, dietary restriction, unsafe preparation step, spoilage, or unsuitable substitution. Check product labels and every ingredient yourself. Never taste food to determine whether it is safe. If you have an allergy, medical condition, or therapeutic diet, consult an appropriately qualified professional and do not rely on Cookguy alone.

5. Bowls, Premium, and subscriptions

Bowls and weekly allowances

“Bowls” are virtual usage units used for eligible Cookguy features. Current plans generally include 35 Bowls per week for Free accounts and 175 Bowls per week for active Premium accounts. The app shows the Bowl cost before or when you use a metered feature. Allowances, costs, included features, and reset timing may change prospectively; the current terms shown in the app control.

Bowl allowances normally reset on the account’s weekly reset date and unused Bowls do not carry over unless Cookguy expressly says otherwise. Bowls have no cash value, are not property, cannot be transferred between accounts, and cannot be redeemed for money. Failed eligible requests may be refunded automatically, but network interruptions or completed service work do not always qualify for a Bowl refund.

Auto-renewing subscriptions

Cookguy may offer monthly and yearly Premium subscriptions. The localized price, billing period, included features, and any introductory offer are shown before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account when the purchase is confirmed. Taxes may apply.

Unless the purchase screen says otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically for the same billing period until canceled. Your store account is charged according to the renewal terms shown by the store. You can manage or cancel through the applicable store’s subscription settings or the subscription-management destination provided in Cookguy. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless the store or law says otherwise. Deleting Cookguy or your Cookguy account does not automatically cancel a store subscription.

Purchases and subscription status are processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat. You can use Restore Purchases to recover eligible entitlements associated with your store account. Refund requests, billing disputes, payment failures, price changes, and store-account issues are governed by the applicable store’s rules and must generally be handled through that store. Cookguy does not receive your complete payment-card information.

If a subscription expires, is canceled, refunded, revoked, or cannot be verified, Premium access and the Premium Bowl allowance may end and the account may return to the Free plan. Your saved content may remain available, subject to feature and storage limits. We may correct entitlement or Bowl balances when store or RevenueCat records show an error, refund, transfer, reversal, or fraudulent transaction.

6. Acceptable use

You may not:

• use the Services for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purposes;
• interfere with the Services, bypass Bowl, subscription, security, or access controls, scrape at scale, or introduce malicious code;
• reverse engineer the Services except where applicable law expressly permits it;
• upload, generate, publish, or share content that violates another person’s rights, privacy, or applicable law;
• impersonate another person, misrepresent affiliation, abuse account creation, or use automated systems to exploit Cookguy; or
• use Cookguy output as professional medical, emergency, or food-safety advice.

We may remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law, or protect the Services.

7. Availability, termination, and disclaimers

We may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue parts of the Services. We may restrict or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, misuse the Services, or if required by law or a platform provider. You may stop using Cookguy at any time and may request account deletion. Termination does not automatically cancel a store subscription.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, notification or timer delivery, continued availability of a feature, or the accuracy, safety, originality, legality, or suitability of generated or community content.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cookguy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, opportunity, food, or ingredients arising from the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Third-party services

Cookguy relies on services provided by Apple, Google, Supabase, RevenueCat, and other providers. Their services and your use of them may be subject to separate terms and policies. Cookguy is not responsible for third-party outages, store decisions, or account restrictions outside our reasonable control.

Disputes and governing rules

Before starting a formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue. These Terms are governed by the laws that apply where the Cookguy service provider is established, without limiting mandatory consumer protections available where you live. Courts with lawful jurisdiction may hear disputes.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Cookguy, subscriptions, providers, or law. We will post the updated Terms and revise the date above. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where required. Changes do not retroactively reduce rights that cannot lawfully be changed.
